On the second day of their exile in the forest, after taking leave from the Sage Bharadwaja, the three (Sita, Rama, Lakshmana) crossed the river Yamuna and entered the forest on the other side (presumably Southern side).

After walking about 5 km. the brothers Rama and Lakshmana killed many deer suitable for killing and moved in the forest of the Yamuna.

fruits and roots.
